Get to know ShePurposed Board Members

Cydnie Johnson (President)

31 year old Cydnie Johnson was Born in New Orleans, La and is now an amazing mother to her son Landon. She serves as President of ShePurposed.

After graduating from St. Mary’s Academy high school, she attended Spelman College in Atlanta, obtained an associate degree in Business Administration, and resided in the area for 9 years to follow. In 2013 she returned to New Orleans for a Thanksgiving visit and never left. She picked up the role of caretaker for her father who had been diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. The moments she spent with him before his passing in January 2014 will last her a lifetime.

Cydnie has been a member of Beacon Light for as long as she can remember. While in Georgia she attended numerous churches but never found a place with a minister that fed her spirit the way Bishop Darryl Brister did at Beacon Light. Church helped her to establish lifelong friendships through involvement in the Youth Ministry, while giving her the testimony that she has been saved to serve.

She is also a member of the Praise Team at Beacon Light where she finds joy in openly praising and worshipping God. For praise and worship are the only things she thought that she could give to God that are of any worth. Her faith in God became stronger when she prayed the prayer ‘Let thy Will be done’ concerning the health of her father. She now takes pride in encouraging others to continue trusting in God no matter the current circumstances. She feels blessed to be a blessing and looks forward to being able to assist in uplifting those who need to be reminded of their value/worth in God’s eyes.

Cydnie is currently enrolled in University of Holy Cross nursing program to obtain a BA in Nursing. Her favorite scriptures are those that reaffirm her faith. From the smallest things to the most severe situation, I trust that God will always make a way. Always.

August Williams (Vice President)

August S. Williams, born September 7, 1985 in New Orleans, Louisiana currently serves as the Vice President of ShePurposed Inc. August is a faithful member of Abundant Life Full Gospel, where she learned that “if you’re faithful to God, God will be faithful to you.” Using this ideology, August fulfills her role as VP by uplifting, empowering, and encouraging women to be everything God intended for them to be. She instills in women the belief that when God is for you, not a devil in hell can be against you. Coming from a close-knitted family where she was the youngest of four girls, August understands the value of supporting and helping women to live their best lives.

Phoebe Lewis (Treasurer and Secretary)

Phoebe Lewis, Treasurer of ShePurposed Inc. is a full-time auditor for the City of New Orleans. Phoebe has obtained her master's degree in accounting from American Public University. She has a love for people and is always eager and willing to do accomplish any task that can benefit another. Joining the ShePurposed team has further enlightened her on her purpose in life. While her walk with Christ hasn’t necessarily been a cake walk, she has utilized her trials and tribulations as learning tools to further grow into the woman she is today; a woman with a purpose. Phoebe is ready to assist women, such as herself, to become the women they are destined to be. Her motto is "pay it forward, not back".
